Stagecraft Classes

Beginner Stagecraft Classes

for Youth (ages 10 to 14) and Adults (18 and up)
registration for a 4-week series of 90-minute sessions - held once a week
Cost $100

Saturdays starting April 11, 2026

Youth from 9:30-11:00 am

Adults from 12:30-2:00 pm

Each course builds on different theatre/performance skill

There are no “marks” in this course, only feedback and encouragement from the facilitator. There are self-reflections and peer reflections (what worked, what could work next time), which equals a safe environment!

You will learn some theory, a new skill set, put them into practice and CREATE!

Class One

Group dynamics and theatre games for focus and concentration

Class Two

Stage technique:

Learn The Stage Map; how to “block” a scene; proper “stage presence’, etc.

Class Three

Vocal Technique:

Learn breath control and support; voice training to project your voice in a theatre without straining; how to articulate clearly

Class Four

Movement:

Learn the dynamics of movement (Rudolph Laban) to build confidence while performing on stage (and in life!)

By the end of the first 4-week session you will:

gain confidence
learn to think on your feet,
learn better concentration,
breathe and speak in a healthy way
gain more awareness of your body movement and how you present yourself to the world!
be ready for the Intermediate Stagecraft Class

Lana Borsellino

Artistic Director and Founder of Theatre Bacchus

With an honours degree in Dramatic Arts from McMaster University, Lana earned her Specialist in Drama in Education at Stratford from OISE.

An award-winning actor and director in the GTHA theatre community where she has been acting and directing since 2004.

Recently retired from a 30-year career in education where she has always been a strong advocate of the arts in education, she has also presented at several major conferences about the importance of creativity and the arts in ALL areas of the curriculum.
