Dead Jealous written by Robin Jennifer Miller
Directed by Lana Borsellino
Show Description: Amy arranges to meet actor, Will, in a wine bar. But this is no ordinary blind date. It’s a job interview. Amy is consumed with jealousy and she needs Will to play the role of her doting, perfect boyfriend – in order to impress her ex-boyfriend, James, who has found a new partner, the glamorous, rich Gina. Perhaps Amy can make James a teeny bit jealous too?
It was never going to be an easy dinner party. Light-hearted banter and veiled insults soon descend into furious arguments and bitter recriminations. But is it jealousy alone that motivates Amy? And who could foresee that the evening would end as it does?
The second part of the play sees the efforts of DS Trent to unearth the truth of what really happened that night. Can she unravel a cruel and twisted plot?
Dead Jealous starts off as a dark comedy, but quickly enters into thriller territory, combining greed, envy, sexual jealousy, treachery and double-crossing. A plot to keep you guessing.
